Toyota Celica Parts: the Key to Heavenly Performance

Celica
The Toyota Celica derived its name from the Spanish word “calico,” which means “from the heavens” or “celestial.” Just like other Toyota vehicles, Toyota Celica is well-acclaimed for its reliability on the road brought by its durable Toyota Celica parts and useful Toyota Celica parts accessories. Intended for motorists who feel youthful, love fun, and adore style, the Toyota Celica has proven to be more than just a basic means of transportation. After years of planning for the vehicle’s development that began as early as 1967, the Toyota Celica was finally rolled out for public consumption in 1971. It was modeled after the EX-1 “Car of the Future,” thus it exuded style that was considered radical at the time of its production. Its significance even extended to the launch of the sporty subcompact market segment.

Offered only in ST form and as a two-door sport-coupe, the Celica was aimed to be an image car instead of a high-volume car. If truth be known, it was actually Toyota’s version of the Mustang. The first Celica was geared with a carbureted four-cylinder engine displacing 1.6 liters. It performed well in the market with its first major change taking place in 1974 in the form of the GT. This model featured a two-liter engine, which had been behind Celica’s powerful performance for the next 11 years. Succeeding Celica generations revolved around Toyota’s inline-4 engines, although some were operated by 4-cylinders. Despite providing lower performance, they were more economical. In 1986, the car’s drive layout was modified from rear wheel drive to front wheel drive, becoming the most important element that shaped Celica’s history. The first three generations witnessed Celicas in the US market being driven by the different versions of Toyota’s R series engines. From 1986 to 1999, a four-wheel drive turbocharged model, labeled as “All-trac” in the US or “GT-Four” in Japan and Europe, was manufactured. Late 1997 Japanese models showcased the Variable Valve Timing, which became standard in all 2000 models and onwards.

Seven generations have come and gone with the model undertaking a number of revisions and design forks. This included the Toyota Celica Supra, which was to be known later on as the Toyota Supra. The presence of Celica was experienced in the forms of the notchback, liftback coupe, and convertible. In 1998, however, rumors circulated that the Toyota Celica would soon vanish from the Toyota lineup. While the MR2 and Supra were withdrawn from Japan, the current model of the Celica had not undergone any redesign since 1993. So Toyota decided to completely revamp the Celica to give the market what it was looking for. From being a sporty or luxury car, the Toyota Celica is now presented as the “Extreme, Young and Racy” vehicle. It promises to deliver powerful performance at a very reasonable price.

The car would not have lasted seven generations without the help of Toyota’s constant innovations on its parts and accessories. Toyota Celica parts and accessories are the main product of Toyota’s technical expertise in building cars of superior engineering. These highly advanced features of top class design have placed Toyota Celica among the best in the car industry. Finding Toyota Celica replacement parts is as easy as pie with hundreds of online stores to choose from. This is also true for installing Toyota Celica parts accessories that are readily available at present. Replacing damaged Toyota Celica parts may require the help of a professional mechanic. However, with a handy repair manual and the right tools, this can also be done at home.

Fixing Those Springs for Celica Gt-s

Celica
In hooking up a car, a set of lowering springs is a must. The springs have to be firm, but not too stiff. How many times have you seen lowered cars bouncing up and down? or more specifically, while the car is moving? When the car bounces, its contact patch gets inconsistent, increasing the chances of the tire losing complete grip, which is definitely not good. If the tire were to skip off the pavement for a split second while going into a turn, you could lose control of your car and wreck it.

Eibach has been manufacturing springs since 1951 and they make performance springs for almost every car out there. Two kits are offered for the Celica GT-S: Pro-Kit and Sport line. Pro-Kits would have lowered the car a little more than an inch. If you are on going with larger 17-inch wheels, Eibach recommends that you go with Sport lines, which lowers the car 1.8 inches up front and 2.4 inches out back. When using the Sportline kit, it is highly suggested that Eibach’s alignment kit is installed to bring the camber specs back into spec.

Here are the steps in fixing the spring for Celica GT-S from the folks at superstreetonline.com:

1. Start off by removing the rear interior panels.

2. After the panels are out, remove the bolts holding the strut/spring to the strut tower.

3. Same goes for the front assembly.

4. Remove the lower bolts that hold the lower control arms to the upper links. Don’t try and push the LCA down to facilitate room for the removal of the strut/spring assembly.

5. Moving to the front of the car, use a strap to hold the axle in the tranny. When removing the strut, gravity pulls the suspension out to full droop, and can potentially yank the axle out.

6. Pull out the strut/spring assembly.

7. Mark each strut to be sure you don’t mix them up.

8. Measure the bump stop and trim off the appropriate amount. Eibach includes instructions on how much should be trimmed.

9. The bumps top sawed the appropriate amount off. The reason the bumps top is shortened is to give you additional suspension travel. Since the car will obviously sit lower, you’ll lose a bit of travel if you leave the bumpstops at their stock length. Do not remove the bumpstops.

10. Put the washers and remain the hardware back on the strut, paying close attention to the order.

11. The top of the strut shaft has a flat portion that you need to pay attention to. A lot of times, users will just smash the upper mount and be happy with a force fit. Don’t do it Chip!

12. Install the OEM rubber dust boot and upper mount. This is the front assembly, but the same thing goes for the rear.

13. Before you tighten down all the bolts, be sure to align the spring seat properly. Then it is done!

Keep Your Toyota in Shape

Celica
There have been rumors that Toyota will be releasing a new Toyota Celica 2009. This rumor started when Toyota brought to life the “interesting cars” committee shortly after acquiring a majority share in Subaru. They claim that there will be a return of the legendary AE86 Corolla Coupe from the 1980’s but some say it will be the 8th generation Toyota Celica.

We may call this the FT-HS, a concept? There have been leaked details that this new vehicle would be less than 4 meters in length, 1.7 meters wide and 1.35 meters high with a target weight of 1000kg.

As of this time, the Toyota Celica has released seven generations of this sporty vehicle since 1970. This has continued to attract customers especially the young ones, including the young once. My dad used to own a first generation model of this, and until now he desires to have the latest model of this nasty sports car. The Celica has been called the Supra for some of its recent models. There has been rumors that Toyota will be releasing an 8th generation model of its kind.

When I was young we owned a Toyota Celica. It was my dad’s teenage car. In 1967, the Toyota Celica was planned and originally designed for young at heart motorists and for those who wanted more than a mode of transportation. In an official history of the Toyota Celica released by Toyota USA states that when planning for the Celica began in 1967, its styling was quite revolutionary and it influenced the establishment of the sporty subcompact market segment. The original Celica powered with a carbureted four-cylinder engine and was only available in ST form and as a two-door sports coupe making it an image car than a volume car.

When I was a kid, I’ve always loved to watch science fiction and futuristic movies wherein they feature cars which look like toys. Now, we can see these bunch of toy-like vehicles on the road in the face of a compact vehicle. In the year 2007, Toyota launched the ultra-compact 3+1 seater “iQ concept”. This three meter long cute car is space efficient which is designed for urban motoring. Toyota will be producing just 100,00 units on its first full year of production in 2009. However, there will be no hybrid version of the iQ since a heavy weight battery pack would go against the laws of its engineering which is weight saving.

When will the Prius be available in the other countries in Asia? I still don’t know the answer to this question, but I believe that the consumers are now asking for the successful hybrid car. In a news that I read, it is said that Prius has sold more than a million Prius vehicles with an actual unit number of 1,027,700. Ever since this vehicle has been launched its sales has been increasing steadily. The biggest market for the Prius is in North America, followed by Japan and Europe. All I can say is I want a Toyota Prius.

With the ever soaring prices of gasoline, more and more people opt to go hybrid. Toyota Cars is now taking the first step and the lead in giving consumers a cleaner and cheaper option which is the hybrid. Hybrid vehicles reduce pollution and emissions by switching from a gasoline powered car to an electric motor powered car. Recent news tells us that Toyota is building a $192 million plant in Japan. This plant is to produce batteries for hybrid vehicles. Toyota has this joint with Panasonic brand products maker Matsushita Electric Industrial Company. This plant is to be located in central Japan.

Toyota Celicas – Are They Viable Sports Cars?

toyota racing
Toyota Celicas have been around for quite some time now. Not quite as old as the Ford Pinto, but you know what I mean. Celicas have always been known for being the affordable sports car made by Toyota.

But, whats so special about this car? When in comparison to other similar priced cars, their quickness is no where near the performance that other cars can produce.

Not only that, Honda’s and Scion’s have much more aftermarket parts availiable for tricking out your ride. So, once in a while you’ll see a Black Toyota Celica in a street race, but if your a true racer, you’re not afraid of the Celica.

Modified Honda’s or Scion’s, even Chevy’s will blow away the Toyota. But that doesn’t stop Toyota lovers from their Celicas. Of course, they have their parts for modding, and they look pretty sweet, but when it comes down to racing, they just don’t cut it.

It’s not very common to see a Toyota Celica For Sale nowadays, it seems like they have all disappeared off the market. Unforunately for the United States, we get the shaft as the imported Celica’s can be quite beastly.

But, for Americans, it seems that all of the import cars get dumbed down when they come to America to comply with our sorry standards for safety, when in reality it is just stupid drivers that cause all the havoc.

Eighty-five year olds that can’t see 15 feet in front of them should not be driving anymore, and this society allows for practically every elder to own a license, and then there are those that are too stubborn to quit, even when they know they shouldn’t be driving.

The United States is full of ignorance, if you were to take that all away, along with a harsher drivers license requirements, all of the really cool import cars that can pick up speed like no other might actually be legal.

But, of course, it just doesn’t work that way. But, lets get back to Toyota Celicas. If your really interested in a Celica, it’s not like they are bad cars in anyways, but when compared to other sports and racing cars these days, they just can’t compete.

Toyota makes great cars, you can almost always rely on them that you are going to get a quality car that will last you a long time, and they’ve proven that over the years.

If you like the car, by all means go for it. You can find a Toyota Celica For Sale quite easy, although they don’t come in the numbers that say a Honda Civic might.

They have decent performance for the gas milage they get, and they have a unique style to them. You definitely won’t find any other car that looks like the Celica, they are quite easy to point out, even in the older years.

Although, there are way too many Red Celicas in the world right now, it would be a lot nicer if they were black, because if you’ve seen a nice black one, then you’ve seen a nice Celica. The red ones are too flashy for their own good, they are nice cars, but not that nice.

All in all, I think Toyota Celicas are quality cars, driveable, and reliable, but if you plan on racing one of these babies, you should prepare yourself to lose quite a bit, or be willing to put a lot of time and effort into modifications to compete with the big boys.

1. This service offers both buying and leasing services, simplifying the process for the consumer.

2. One of the highlighted features of these services is the online accountancy services. With a secure log, you can check your accounts at the convenience of your home or office. This can be done by any computer that too fully secured. Hence, you do not have to wait for the account statement until the end of the month. All this is possible through the specialized online website of the company.

3. The leasing option in this service includes several facilities like lesser down payments. Leasing options in this case work differently. They allow for the following: i. Reduced monthly payments based on the projected mileage. ii. The ability to purchase it at the end of the lease. iii. The ability to trade in the vehicle. iv.
