This is the hybrid I’ve seen so far that interests me at all. All the others are plug hybrids which are not practical for people who don’t have a garage to put the car in while you charge it overnight. The Prius has a built in battery recharging mechanism.
The point is the early days of new tech. Just like the first liners could not be trans atlantic no matter how big they were untill later developments like triple expansion engines. It will get better.
Japan has a 12 year advantage on hybrids while GMs still a science project if it even ever happens in 2 years.

Why would Toyota build a 900bhp prius?
You seem very confused. You see, the whole point of building a hybrid power plant at the pinnacle of motor sport is to accelerate R and D. That’s why BMW, Ferrari, Honda, Mercedes, Toyota and Renault are all pouring money into there research. But I guess by swearing and throwing out insults you’ve just proven that you are smarter than all of them combined!

I’m surprised to hear a comment like this coming from a Brit! Next year Formula One is allowing teams to run Hybrid systems. Test mules are reported to be running over 900bhp!
This tech always trickles down to us. I guess I held average Brit intelligence too high. Although… isn’t Britain where 7 F1 teams are based?

Common misconception in this vid – hybrid cars actually run off a potent mixture of semen and nonce-sweat, which is mixed with air in the combustion chamber by a pointless sandal wearing hippy fuckwad. The end result of this worthless effort is a mejestic 3BHP in what is essentially a mechanical slug on wheels. It is less Green than a well-driven small petrol hatch, costs far more to manufacture in terms of materials and uses hideously dangerous batteries that cause AIDs in rabbits. I LOVE IT!
